Melissa Oleshansky, PhD, LP, RYT

Melissa Oleshansky, PhD, RYT ("Dr. O") is a fully Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist, Certified and Registered Hatha Yoga Teacher, Personal and Executive Life Coach, and Adjunct Psychology College Instructor. At RCBM, Dr. O serves as the Senior Staff Psychologist, a Clinical Supervisor, and the Director of the Mind/Body Program. For over two decades, she has worked with individuals, across the lifespan, who have suffered from stress and anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, ADHD, sleep and chronic health issues, eating disorders, addiction, and social and relationship problems. Dr. Oleshansky is an expert in the areas of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, acceptance and commitment therapy, health promotion, and positive psychology. She specializes in the treatment of stress, anxiety, and depression with adults. In therapy, she takes a personalized approach to meet a person with where they are at in the present moment and uses evidenced based research, mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, and yoga principles to help a person strengthen insight and wisdom over their body’s stress response, build confidence to regulate their moods and emotions, improve social connections and relationships, and find meaning and purpose in life.   

Dr. O has a Doctoral degree in Clinical Health Psychology, two master’s degrees, one in Clinical Psychology and one in School and Community Educational Psychology, along with a certification in yoga teaching and philosophy. Dr. O works collaboratively with the RCBM prescribers, registered dietitians, research team, and psychometricians to offer an integrative approach for optimal mind/body health and wellness. Dr. O is committed to motivating, educating, and guiding each person to navigate through life’s most difficult and challenging times, strengthen self-compassion, and live a healthy life.
