Conjoint Therapy

Kathy Tessmar, LMSW, explores conjoint therapy as an essential therapeutic tool.  A patient’s symptoms will, inevitably, impact the members of his or her support system.  For this reason, it is often important to involve loved ones in the therapeutic process in order to increase awareness and compassion.  Family or marital therapy can also help to fortify the relationships and assist in the creation of a home environment that is conducive to positive change and reduction of psychological/psychiatric symptoms.
